Dean's Message

The College of Dentistry at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) comprises three academic units—the Department of Dentistry, the Institute of Oral Biology, and the Institute of Oral Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials. In collaboration with teaching hospitals, including Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospitals (VGHs) and the NYCU Hospital, the College provides comprehensive education and research spanning basic science, clinical training, and biomaterials development. Since its establishment in 2001, through the collective efforts of former deans, faculty members, students, and alumni, the College has built a strong foundation and has played a significant role in advancing oral health education and research.

In response to rapid advances in medical technology and evolving societal needs, the College is committed to its core missions of talent cultivation, research excellence, clinical translation, and social engagement. We strive to strengthen professional education through research-oriented training, interdisciplinary integration, and international collaboration, while fostering dental professionals with scientific thinking, humanistic values, and a global perspective. At the same time, we aim to enhance the international visibility and societal impact of our research and to translate scientific discoveries into improved oral health care.

The sustainable development of the College is built on teamwork—through the dedication of our faculty, the enthusiasm of our students, and the strong support of our administrative staff. By working together, we will continue to advance steadily and shape a College of Dentistry that supports innovation, respects professionalism, and is a source of shared pride.
